That's going to depend on a lot of factors.. I'm no gun expert, but I personally own a National Match .45ACP and these are what Ipersonally think about when I try to put a value on my pistol.Essentially, it's kind of like a Car at a collector's auction..1.) Age - The older the gun is, the more valuable it will probablybe assuming you are comparing this gun to the same gun which isnewer but in the same condition. An original 1911 in good conditionwill be much more valuable than a 1911 just bought off the shelves. You can just do a google search for 'Colt Serial Number Lookup' tofind out what year your gun was made. 2.) Condition - If it's anolder 1911, is it still functional? Does it have rust/pitting? Isthe lettering still clearly visible? How is the finish? Obviously agun in good/working condition will be more valuable than a rusted,non-functional gun. 3.) Originality - Not sure if that's a goodterm to use, but I'm sticking to it. How much of the gun isoriginal, 'numbers-matching' from the factory? Has it been re-blued(assuming it's blue steel)? What about the controls, trigger, hammer, grips, barrel, recoil spring, mag release, etc.? The morethe gun has been modified, the less valuable it will be. Sure itmay look nicer, function better, save babies with leukemia and makea really good pastrami on rye..but it still won't be as valuableas an all original colt. 4.) Celebrity/Infamy - If you're not thefirst owner, was a previous owner someone of anyhistorical/social/cultural significance? If so, and you can verifythis, then this gun can be much more valuable to a collector thanan identical gun that belonged to some regular Joe. The gun itselfmay be a piece of history. 5.) Location - Simply put, where youlive, or more specifically, where you're selling the gun can have abig impact on its value as well. There are plenty of other factorswhich will affect the value of your gun. The only true way to knowwould be to take it in and have it appraised. It is impossible tosay how much your gun is worth without ever seeing or holding it.But if you're looking for a ballpark figure..my Colt .45ACP 1911NM was made in 1937, has been re-blued and had the trigger/hammerreplaced. All other parts are original (including 1 originalmagazine) and I just recently had it appraised for about $1400
